Dear members of the The Rough Stuff Fellowship,
My name is Ted Van Zanten and I am representing a group of students at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US) working on a project to reengineer bicycle transmissions. We are seeking bicyclist input before we complete our alpha prototype. We are interested in finding out what the common perceptions of alternative transmissions are and also get user input in the way of desired features into our design. I have already approached many bike clubs with these surveys and we have received feedback which has already helped reshape our prototype.
Would you mind assisting us? Your input would be greatly appreciated in making our project happen. We believe that often times the end-user and the engineers lack communication and we hope that this survey will allow cyclists to put forth their ideas.
We have developed two surveys which are almost identical: one for on-road bikes and one for off-road bikes. Recognizing that you may only do one or the other, you can click on the survey that pertains to your predominant type of riding. If you do both on-road and off-road riding, it would be spectacular if you completed both surveys, but if time only allows for one, then please choose the riding type you more favor. SURVEY COMPLETION DEADLINE: PLEASE COMPLETE THE SURVEY WITHIN 10 DAYS OF RECEIVING THIS EMAIL.
