The South Lakes Group of the Rough-Stuff Fellowship welcome the unanimous yes vote of Lancaster Local for the extension of the Lune Valley Cycle Path see the details on the Members and Site Blog at this link http://www.blog.southlakesgroup.org.uk We look forward to riding on the future extension of the cycle path up to Wray instead of the more dangerous A683 which was reported in the national press as one of most dangerous roads in the country travel along!

with regards
Simeon Orme

Area Secretary for the South Lakes Group

A bit interesting development on the cycle track extension in December 2007 Lancashire Local-Lancaster committee have allocated £50,000 towards extending the cycle track up the Lune Valley. It is hoped that in 2008 the cycle track will be extended approx 750m beyond the end of (tarmaced) cycle track at Bull Beck. The remaining sections will be improved over the next 5 to 10 years depending on funding and property negotiations.
